Lectures in law and the economics of financial markets and comparative financial systems at the Bocconi University, Milan. He previously taught at the Universities of Bologna and Modena. He is a member of the scientific committee of Prometeia, of Consob, the "Luigi Einaudi" institute for monetary, banking and credit studies and the journals "Banca Impresa e Società" and "Mercato Concorrenza Regole". He is a member of the CNEL board and a leader writer for “Il Sole 24 ore”. Commissioner at Consob from October 1993 to October 1998 (in this period he was a member of various commissions, including the "Draghi" commission preparing the consolidated finance law). His areas of scientific interest are the structure of financial systems and international confrontation, the economic aspects of market regulation and financial intermediaries, corporate governance of companies quoted on the stock exchange and the microeconomics of financial markets.
