Palazzo Bassetti, the headquarters of the Bank of Trento and Bolzano since 1960, once the residence of the Bassetti barons, was restored by Ing. Saverio Tamanini (1833-1887), “a cultured and courteous spirit, an artist of exquisite taste” one of the most well-known professionals involved in the development of the city in the second half of the 19th century, with a project dated 5 November 1883. ?In 1939, the then Podestà of Trento authorised the Società Anonima Finanziaria Immobiliare Trentina to carry out the project to “Renovate the building in Via Mantova 10” according to the directions of the architect Marco Martinuzzi, (Murano 1877-Trento 1949), a graduate of the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, who arrived in Trento at the beginning of the 20th century. The bank inaugurated the new room in 1961 and restored the whole building in 2000 according to a project by the Trentino architect Sergio Giovanazzi.
